New Pattern: MPSC Rajyaseva Main Exam:
Compulsory 6 papers:
1) English (100 Marks) – Descriptive type questions
2) Marathi (100 Marks) – Descriptive type questions
3) General Studies Paper I (150 Marks) – Objective type questions (MCQs) – 2 hours
4) General Studies Paper II (150 Marks) – Objective type questions (MCQs) - 2 hours
5) General Studies Paper III (150 Marks) – Objective type questions (MCQs) - 2 hours
6) General Studies Paper IV (150 Marks) – Objective type questions (MCQs) - 2 hours
Negative Marking for GS papers – For 3 wrong answers 1 mark will be cut.
Passing Marks:
45% in each of the 6 papers for Open Category
40% in each of the 6 papers for Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBCs, etc)
Interview: 100 Marks

@Satish, there are total 8 questions with sub-question in them and all are compulsory. Questions are descriptive in nature. You can refer questions in any book of MPSC Mains English n Marathi published by various authors.

@Badriprasad, you can start preparation for the Rajyaseva exam and go for it while doing your Internship and not before that. Your Internship should be complete by the last date of application for Mains exam which is taken after you clear Prelims of that year.

I am pursuing M.C.A. final year from University of Pune. I have chosen this field only because of unstable economical background. I am highly impressed by civil services and want to be a Tahsildar. Should I get the job before I start preparation for civil services or should start preparation from now onwards? Please guide me.

@Vishal, I would suggest you to start preparation RIGHT NOW and be ready for 2014 exam. If you need financial security till then, go for a job but do not lose your focus. Please very well according to the syllabus.

1) You don’t like programming: so go for PG in other streams like MA.
2) You can handle both at the same time: PG as well as MPSC preparation. Join PG from YCMOU.

But I read in CIVIL SERVICES PATTERN & SYLLABUS
given at MPSC official website that
it will be 3:1 negative marking. plz sir explain.

@Dilip, yes, 2:1 ratio was in the initial declaration of new exam pattern issued on 22 Nov 2011. Now, it has been revised to 3:1; we forgot to update it on this page.

first time i m properly applied for upcoming PSI PRE, MPSC PRE, AND STI PRE EXAMS 2012. as per MPSC schedule the PSI PRE exam will be held in this april month but still i m not receive any email or hallticket information. is there any process for getting my hallticket from any other destination? and plz kindly suggest best relevant books for preparation of STATE PRE and STI PRE EXAM and oblige. thank you!

@AnilMD, I have received the “payment received” message on my cell phone as well as on the website, however the application accepted confirmation has yet not arrived. Kindly guide me on the time required to receive this “application acceptance” message. I applied online and made online payment on the last day i.e 4th April 2012

@Niranjan, you don’t have to worry about it at all. The acceptance process takes time. Just concentrate on your preparation. You will get your Hall Ticket in your MPSC account just 7 days before the exam.
