New syllabus for Rajyaseva Prelims has been introduced from 2013. Here it is : New Syllabus
Dear Friends (Full Timers)
Many of you might be planning to appear at MPSC State Services exam in Feb 2012 and UPSC Civil Services exam in Jun 2012. Excellent idea to save precious time for your future!!! But you maybe in a dilemma about how to manage the preparation simultaneously for both exams, right?
NOTE: Choose same subjects for MPSC Main exam and UPSC Main exam.
Here is my suggestion for those who are devoting their whole day for the preparation (12 to 14 hours study, everyday):
July 21st to 31st – Collection of entire study material for both exams according to the syllabus. Organising and planning of the study for next 11 months.
August 1st to 31st – Optional Subject I, both papers
Sep 1st to 3oth – Optional Subject II, both papers
Oct 1st to 31st – General Studies, both papers
Nov 1st to 3oth – MPSC Prelims
Dec 1st to 31st – MPSC Prelims
Jan 1st to 31st – MPSC Prelims – Solve Question Paper Sets
After MPSC Prelims is over:
Feb 15th to 29th – Revise MPSC GS portion that is common to UPSC and study the remaining GS for UPSC Prelims.
March 1st to 31st – UPSC Prelims – GS
Apr 1st to 3oth – UPSC Prelims – CSAT
May 1st to 31st – UPSC Prelims – Solve Question Paper Sets
The above study plan is most suitable to those who are planning to give MPSC and UPSC Prelims in 2012.

Hello Sir,
I am basically from English medium background, i wanted to prepare for MPSC but due to scarcity of materials in English i find it very difficult to prepare for the same, some of them suggested me to read Marathi materials , but for Maharashtra geography etc. , i am finding very herculean task to absorb the knowledge. and very much difficult to understand the terms. is there any way out, or I am also planning to fully concentrate on UPSC. i am running out of time due to Age factor.
@Mayur, that’s very true. You may have to refer some books in Marathi but for Geography and other subjects, there are books in English published by Pragati publications and others. You should refer these books. For our PGP candidates, we take lots of pain to find such material and provide them. In case, no such material is available at that time, we provide them books in Marathi, too.
I have heard that in sangli v can give upsc exam can u tell me whr will I get the form of mpsc and upsc and when ……………..thanking u …………………hope for the rply……………..
@Jyoti, there is no UPSC exam center in Sangli, nearest center for you is Aurangabad/Mumbai. You can keep your eye on upsc.gov.in and mpsc.gov.in for exam notifications.
i am saloni i would like to know about when i can start preparation of mpse course or exam i had givan 12th arts exam this year i would like to know is there any differance between pune and mumbai where i have to do this education my mail id is *****>
@Saloni, you should start preparation for MPSC from your first year itself. It doesn’t matter where you complete your education. It matters how you prepare for MPSC. ou can do it from your home itself. If you wish to know how to do it then read all the links available under the menu “Courses” just below the blog banner.
sir pls tell me the interview for mpsc is conducted in Marathi or English…… as i am south Indian so my English is quite strong compare to Marathi
waiting for ur reply
@Chetan, you can choose English for the Interview.
thank you for your reply sir,
so sir if i choose English is there possibility that i could be asked something by chance in Marathi
or the personality test is completely conducted in one language only….
sir i belong to Nagpur and very much interested in civil service presently
i am in 3rd year BE and looking forward to join your pgp course is it residential academy
@Chetan, there can be few questions in Marathi so be ready for that because as a Class I officer, you would be handling rural population that speaks Marathi. You can also prepare for UPSC CIvil Services to become IAS/IPS/IFS and the entire exam process (Prelims/Mains and Interview) will be in English.
Join our PGP that can be completed from Nagpur itself thereby saving your precious years (you MUST do it alongwith your BE) in preparation for the exams MPSC/UPSC.
sir does your academy has classroom program or it is purely correspondant
@Chetan, our academy has a vision – to provide excellent guidance through Personal Guidance Program to those who can’t attend classroom coaching. Our PGP is much more than class room coaching. Class room coaching is limited to classroom teaching only. Our PGP guides you 24×7.
sry sir, i have been asking you so many questions but i couldn’t resist myself from asking doubt
sir if one gets selected as class1 officer say dy collector so after training (s)he ll be joining as on post i.e assigned or after certain period ll be promoted….someone said me that after writing mpsc ,we have to join from lower post even to become class1 officer
waiting for reply and thank you for clearing my doubts sir
@Chetan, you will have to join the post for which you have given exam and are selected for the post.

Ya exam badal kahi guideline daay.)Assistant Preliminary Examination 2011)
@Sameer, you should refer to the study plan pages and then jot down the list of books according to the syllabus.
I m compliting graduation with side B.A. (Eng.) so which sub will be benificial for me in the main exam of MPSC?
@Anwar, go for Public Admin and History or Geography or Sociology, or Home Science.
sir i m ridhara gadade, i have given my final year BE computer examination and i am waiting for the results.
sir i want to ask you which subjects should i choose for my mains exams. i have gone through all the optional subjects and i have founded these subjects – Geography, public administration, computer science, History.
sir but as i have studied computer engg selecting computer science wil be ok for me or i shall select geography and public administration.
It is true that very less students choose computer science.
plz guide me sir.
Ridhara, Public Admin and History or Geography or Home Science.
sir ,
as per new rule introuced by upsc that an aspirant can give personal interview in there mother toung . so is it applicable for the person who took mains exam medium in hindi can give p.i. in marathi ?or he must take english or mother toung for mains to give p.i. in marathi?
@Nitin, as per UPSC a candidate who opts for an Indian Language (OTHER THAN Hindi) for the Main exam will be allowed to choose the same language or English or Hindi as medium for Interview and a candidate who gives the Main exam in English can give the Interview in English, or Hindi or any other Indian language opted for the compulsory Indian language paper in Main exam.
sir new rules has been introduced by upsc that any one can give personal interview in mother toung but can u tell me if some one took medium of answer for main in hindi will be able to give p.i. in marathi?or is it applicable for only those who took english or mother toung for mains?
@Nitin, as per UPSC a candidate who opts for an Indian Language (OTHER THAN Hindi) for the Main exam will be allowed to choose the same language or English or Hindi as medium for Interview and a candidate who gives the Main exam in English can give the Interview in English, or Hindi or any other Indian language opted for the compulsory Indian language paper in Main exam. So it means, you cannot give interview in Marathi if you take Hindi medium for Main exam.
