1. सरला दास यांच्या 600व्या जयंतीदिनी त्यांचा आदी कवी, आदी ऐतिहासिका आणि आदी भूगोलविद म्हणून वेंकैया नायडू यांच्याकडून गौरव:
   आदिकवी सरला दास यांच्या 600 व्या जयंतीच्या निमित्ताने आयोजित केलेल्या कार्यक्रमात उपराष्ट्रपती बोलत होते. सरला दास केवळ आदी कवी नव्हते तर ते आदी ऐतिहासिका आणि आदी भूगोलविद होते अशा शब्दात नायडू यांनी त्यांचा गौरव केला. 15 व्या शतकासारख्या प्राचीन काळातही त्यांनी सामान्यांना समजेल अशा बोलीभाषेचा वापर केल्यामुळे लोकाभिमुख साहित्यनिर्मितीचे ते प्रणेते होते असे त्यांनी सांगितले. सरला दास असामान्य प्रतिभावान साहित्यिक होते आणि ओदिया भाषेचे पितामह अशी उपाधी त्यांना प्राप्त झाली होती, अशा शब्दात उपराष्ट्रपतींनी त्यांचा गौरव केला. त्यांनी ओदिया भाषा आणि संस्कृती समृद्ध केली असे ते म्हणाले. त्यामुळेच भारत सरकारने ओदिया भाषेचा भारताची सांस्कृतिक भाषा म्हणून सन्मान केला असून सरला दास हे या भाषेचे दीपस्तंभ आहेत, असे त्यांनी सांगितले.

Shri Naidu hails Sarala Das as Adi Kabi, Adi Aitihasika and Adi Bhougolbith at the poet’s 600th birth anniversary event:
Speaking at the 600th birth anniversary event of Adikabi Sarala Das, the Vice President highlighted the fact that the Mahabharata written by Sarala Das has not dimmed among Odia people even after hundreds of years because of his unique style and diction. Hailing Sarala Das as not just Adi Kabi, but also as Adi Aitihasika and Adi Bhougolbith, Shri Naidu said Sarala Das was a pioneer in democratizing literature as he had used colloquial language as early as the 15th century. Hailing Sarala Das as a literary genius, who earned the title of ‘The Father of Odia Language’, he said that he has enriched Odia language and culture.
