1. PRESIDENT OF INDIA ADDRESSES DHAMMACAKKA DAY 2022 CELEBRATIONS AT SARNATH:
   The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind addressed the Dhammacakka Day 2022 celebrations at Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh today (July 13, 2022) through a video message.

Addressing the gathering, the President said that Buddhism has been one of the greatest spiritual traditions of India. Many holy sites associated with the life and teachings of Lord Buddha are located in India. Among those many places, there are four main places – first Bodh Gaya, where he attained enlightenment; second Sarnath, where he gave his first sermon; third Shravasti where he spent most Chaturmases and gave most of the sermons; and the fourth Kushinagar, where he attained the Mahaparinirvana.

The President said that our democracy has been deeply influenced by Buddhist ideals and symbols. The national emblem is taken from the Ashoka Pillar at Sarnath, which also has the Dharma Chakra engraved on it. Behind the chair of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, the sutra “Dharma Chakra Pravartanaya” is inscribed. The chief architect of our Constitution, Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had said that in our parliamentary democracy, many processes of ancient Buddhist associations have been adopted.

The Ministry of Culture in association with the International Buddhist Confederation is celebrating the Āshaḍha Pūrṇima Divas, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

राष्ट्रपतींनी सारनाथ येथील धम्मकक्का दिन 2022 सोहळ्याला एका व्हिडिओ संदेशाच्या माध्यमातून संबोधित केले:
राष्ट्रपती राम नाथ कोविंद यांनी आज (13 जुलै, 2022 ) उत्तर प्रदेशातील सारनाथ येथे धम्मकक्का (धम्मचक्र ) दिन 2022 सोहळ्याला एका व्हिडिओ संदेशाच्या माध्यमातून संबोधित केले.

उपस्थितांना संबोधित करताना राष्ट्रपती म्हणाले की, बौद्ध धर्म हा भारतातील महान आध्यात्मिक परंपरांपैकी एक आहे. भगवान बुद्धांच्या जीवनाशी आणि शिकवणीशी संबंधित अनेक पवित्र स्थळे भारतात आहेत. त्यापैकी चार मुख्य ठिकाणे आहेत – पहिले बोधगया, जिथे त्यांना ज्ञान प्राप्त झाले; दुसरे सारनाथ, जिथे त्यांनी पहिले प्रवचन दिले; तिसरा श्रावस्ती जिथे त्यांनी सर्वात जास्त चातुर्मास व्यतीत केले, आणि अनेक प्रवचने दिली आणि चौथे कुशीनगर, जिथे त्यांचे महापरिनिर्वाण झाले.

राष्ट्रपती म्हणाले की, आपल्या लोकशाहीवर बौद्ध धर्माचे आदर्श आणि प्रतीकांचा मोठा प्रभाव आहे. सारनाथ येथील अशोक स्तंभावरून राष्ट्रीय चिन्ह घेतले आहे, ज्यावर धर्मचक्र देखील कोरलेले आहे. लोकसभा अध्यक्षांच्या खुर्चीच्या मागे ‘धर्मचक्र प्रवर्तनाय’ हे सूत्र कोरलेले आहे. आपल्या राज्यघटनेचे प्रमुख शिल्पकार बाबासाहेब, डॉ. भीमराव आंबेडकर म्हणाले होते की, आपल्या संसदीय लोकशाहीमध्ये प्राचीन बौद्ध संघांच्या अनेक प्रक्रियांचा अवलंब करण्यात आला आहे.

स्वातंत्र्याच्या अमृत महोत्सवाचा एक भाग म्हणून सांस्कृतिक मंत्रालय आंतरराष्ट्रीय बौद्ध महासंघाच्या सहकार्याने आषाढ पौर्णिमा दिवस साजरा करत आहे.

2. Taranga Hill-Ambaji-Abu Road new rail line:
   It will also provide alternate route between Ahmedabad and Abu Road.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the construction of Taranga Hill-Ambaji- Abu Road new rail line to be constructed by Ministry of Railways at an estimated cost of Rs.2798.16 crore.

The total length of the new rail line will be 116.65 kms. The project will be completed by 2026-27. The project will generate direct employment during construction for about 40 lakh mandays.

Ambaji is a famous important pilgrimage destination and is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths in India and attracts millions of devotees from Gujarat as well as other parts of the country and abroad every year.

Further, the devotees visiting the Ajitnath Jain temple (one of the 24 holy Jain Tirthankaras) at Taranga Hill would also be greatly benefitted by this connectivity. This railway new line between Taranga Hill-Ambaji- Abu Road will connect these two important religious sports with railway’s main network.

तरंगा टेकडी -अंबाजी-अबू रोड या नवीन रेल्वे मार्ग:
या प्रकल्पामुळे विद्यमान अहमदाबाद-अबू रोड रेल्वे मार्गाला पर्यायी मार्गही उपलब्ध होणार आहे.

पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखालील आर्थिक व्यवहार विषयक मंत्रिमंडळ समितीने ,रेल्वे मंत्रालयाद्वारे बांधण्यात येणाऱ्या अंदाजे 2798.16 कोटी रुपये खर्चाच्या तरंगा टेकडी -अंबाजी-अबू रोड या नवीन रेल्वे मार्गाच्या बांधकामाला मंजुरी दिली आहे.

नवीन रेल्वे मार्गाची एकूण लांबी 116.65 किलोमीटर असेल. हा प्रकल्प 2026-27 पर्यंत पूर्ण होईल.या प्रकल्पामुळे, बांधकामादरम्यान सुमारे 40 लाख मनुष्य दिवसांसाठी थेट रोजगार निर्माण होणार आहे.

अंबाजी हे एक प्रसिद्ध महत्त्वाचे तीर्थक्षेत्र आहे आणि भारतातील 51 शक्तीपीठांपैकी एक आहे आणि दरवर्षी गुजरात तसेच देशाच्या इतर भागातून आणि परदेशातील लाखो भाविक या ठिकाणी येत असतात. या रेल्वेमार्गाच्या उभारणीमुळे या लाखो भाविकांना सहज प्रवास करणे शक्य होणार आहे.याशिवाय तरंगा टेकडीवरील अजितनाथ जैन मंदिराला ( 24 पवित्र जैन तीर्थंकरांपैकी एक) भेट देणाऱ्या भाविकांनाही या कनेक्टिव्हिटीचा मोठा फायदा होईल. तरंगा टेकडी -अंबाजी-अबू रोड दरम्यानचा हा रेल्वे मार्ग या दोन महत्त्वाच्या धार्मिक क्षेत्रांना रेल्वेच्या मुख्य जाळ्याशी जोडेल.
