राज्यसेवा पूर्व परीक्षा आणि मुख्य परीक्षा ह्यात फरक काय आहे?
पूर्व परीक्षा
ही परीक्षा चाळणी परीक्षा म्हणून घेतली जाते. ही ओब्जेक्टीव्ह म्हणजेच वस्तुनिष्ठ बहुपर्यायी स्वरुपाची असते. ह्या प्रश्नपत्रिकेत सर्व उत्तरं तुमच्या समोरच असतात. त्यातून सर्वोत्तम जे असेल तेच निवडावे लागते. त्यासाठी “elimination” मेथड वापरायची असते. दिलेल्या ४ उत्तरांमधून २ चुकीचे उत्तरं काढून टाकायची असतात मग उरलेल्या २ उत्तरांतून १ उत्तरं निवडायचे असते. ह्या परीक्षेसाठी लागणारी तयारी सुद्धा मुख्य परीक्षेच्या तयारी पेक्षा वेगळी असते. अभ्यास फार विस्तीर्ण स्वरूपाचा करावा लागतो, थोडफार वाचून चालत नाही. जास्तीत जास्त वाचन करावं लागते.
ह्या परीक्षेत फक्त एक प्रश्नपत्रिका असते [सामान्य अध्ययन] २०० प्रश्नांची आणि २०० गुणांची आणि २ तासात सोडवायची असते.
खालील घटक असतात:
- कला घटक
- विज्ञान व अभियांत्रिकी घटक
- वाणिज्य व अर्थव्यवस्था घटक
- कृषी विषयक घटक
- जागतिक तसेच भारतातील चालू घडामोडी
- बुद्धिमापन विषयक प्रश्न
मुख्य परीक्षा
मुख्य परीक्षा ही objective & descriptive असते. ह्या परीक्षेचा अभ्यास पूर्वपरीक्षे पूर्वीच सुरु करून संपवायचं असतो. म्हणजेच जून किंवा जुलै मध्ये ह्या परीक्षेचा अभ्यास सुरु करून October 31 पर्यंत संपवायचा आणि November पासून पूर्व परीक्षेच्या अभ्यासाला लागायचं असत. पूर्व परीक्षा February महिन्यात संपल्याबरोबर मुख्य परीक्षे साठी परत तयारी करायची असते. October 31 पर्यंत केलेल्या अभ्यासाच्या वेळेस नोट्स बनवायचे असतात आणि ते नोट्स मग आता रेफर करायचे असतात. ह्यावेळी मात्र फक्त सिलेक्तीव्ह अभ्यास करायचा असतो. जो अभ्यास करायचं असतो तो विस्तीर्ण स्वरूपाचा असतो तेव्हा एका टॉपिक वर कमीत कमी २ पुस्तकं तरी वाचायचे असतात म्हणजे तो टॉपिक व्यवस्थित समजून जातो आणि मग आपलं उत्तरं काय आणि कसं असावं हे सुचतं.
ह्या परीक्षेत एकूण 6 अनिवार्य प्रश्नपत्रिका असतात.

- मराठी (descriptive)
- सामान्य अध्ययन -१
- सामान्य अध्ययन -२
- सामान्य अध्ययन -3
- सामान्य अध्ययन -4
वैकल्पिक विषय
No optional subject from 2012 exam.

What is the nature of PSI STI ASST main exam, its objective or theory type? Which syllabus is changed of mpsc ?Rajyaseva or psi sti asst? What are the changes?
@Abhishek, only changes are for Rajyaseva Mains 2012, rest all are same as of 2011.

@Vikas, under the State Services exam, there are many posts and ONLY one exam is for all. It is on 10th Jun 2012 (if you have applied before 4th Apr then only you can appear at the exam on 10th Jun 2012 else you will have to prepare for 2013 exam). There will be only 1 question paper of 200 marks. After clearing Prelims, you need to appear at Main exam and only after clearing that exam, you will be allowed to appear at the Interview. If you clear that too, then only you will be recommended for the post (your choice of the post, your final marks of Main exam + Interview and availability of the desired post are considered at the time of post allocation).
Sir I am an english medium student so i want to ask whether this exam is in english .Because though i am maharashtrian but it is very difficult to understand specific words in marathi.
@Prachi, yes, you can prepare for MPSC State Services exam in English.

what is validity of score of preliminary exam, if we got required mark is it eligible only for subsequent main exam or we can use that score for more than 1 main exam?
@Amol, yes, it is eligible for the current year’s main exam only and not for subsequent years. All three stages (Prelims, Main and Interview) should be cleared for a given year’s exam process.

@Sachin, yes. When you prepare GS for Mains, your preparation for Prelims automatically takes place, except few topics that you can manage very well.
