Will there be problem during document verification? please guide me…
@Aniket, as per norms, one must apply as per SSC certificate. You should get a gazette notification about your new name.
Sir, I belong to OBC CATEGORY and I Hve selected NO for Non creamy layer. Can I still get benifit under women’s cutoff? Or it will b counted as open? Plz help. I’m confused. Thank you
@Vidya, in this case, you will be treated as Open candidate.
Sir, for MPSC exam whether paper-2 is only a qualifying paper (like UPSC) or combined marks for paper 1 and 2 are considered for cut-off. Also, is there any change expected for mpsc prelims 2016 in the cut-off calculation.

@Prajakta, yes, but you have to claim it (wish to be considered for the Open seats) while applying for the exam and by paying fees meant for Open category candidates.

@Kishore, it is for only OBC and lady candidates of Open category if they wish to claim Women’s reservation.

@Prashant, cut offs are calculated for paper I & II, not separately.
Sir I had scored 123 marks according to the answer key…still my roll number is not there in the list of selected candidates…What can be the problem sir?
@Ankita, you may have selected “NO” for Non-Creamy Layer hence you are taken by MPSC as “General” candidate for which the cut offs are higher than your score. Please clarify this from your Profile as well as MPSC office.
Sir I had selected “No” for non-creamy layer, but as per the cut-off in “open” category there is also a “Female” category for which cut-off is mentioned as 110. Then as per “Female-open” category, I should have cleared the prelims. Please let me know if my understanding is incorrect.
@Ankita, you should have selected “YES” to claim the women quota benefit under “Female” category for which the cut of is 110.

Hello sir,my candidature was rejected in mpsc pre exam besides scoring high marks than female open cut off..because i am in the creamy layer..
Is the same rule is applied to Upsc also..?

@Rajni, for UPSC, the cut offs are calculated for 4 categories only: General, OBC, SC and ST.

@Neel, MPSC doesn’t disclose cut offs for language papers. Yes, we have crash course. Please refer “Courses” menu.
sir, my score as general female category was 120 but didn find my roll no.. m shocked sir.. pl help.((( or is it dat—– is there a difference between general female candidate and general female who opted for female quota under reservation… kindly help

Good morning Anil sir, my score of pre is 164 . Now im working in banglore and in dual state of mind about whether i will qualify for mains or not and not able to focus on mains. Im prepairing for UPSC 2014 but there is a time constraint. Shall i resign from job for mains , please tender ur valuable advise as time is extrmly limited from now….im not in touch with english and marathi sub since long time….
@Dnyaneshwar, without proper devotion focus may wander, so concentrate on your goal and continue preparing for RS Mains. Go for similar topics (RS Mains and UPSC Pre) for next couple of days or a week or so. By then the final answer key will come out and you can decide about the preference (MPSC or UPSC). No need to leave your job right now. Refer 2 basic books each for Marathi and English.

Thanks for your initiative regarding cut off. It is this blog which lessen the uncertainity in the minds of aspirants due to changing nature of this exam.
I just want to know whether this cut off has considered increased number of vacancies( which commission generally adds afterwards).
I am asking this as there are people out there telling that more than 200 seats will be increased and people with 120-130+ will also might get chance. Is this just rumour or any truth in this news ?

@Avinash, no, these expected cut offs have been calculated base don current vacancies. Until unless MPSC officially announces the increase in vacancies, I can’t say anything about it.

With due respect , I dont think that cut off wil be so low, as level of questions in both papers in comparison with last year is somewhat same as paper 1 was littlebit dificult but paper 2 was slight easier than last year..and total seats also matters in deciding cut off marks..as total seats in last were about 392 so total candidates qualifying pre exam were thirteen to fifteen times of seats i.e. 4600 candidates. but this year total seats are only around 180 so number of candidates qualifying pre will be about thirteen to fifteen times of seats and that will be around 2350 to 2700 candidates ..this really matters.

Dear Anil Sir, I would like to know how new score is calculated when MPSC cancels a question, for a person who did not attempt it and for a person who did attempt it with correct or wrong answer.
@Vaibhav, when a question is cancelled no one gets marks for it (who answered incorrect – will have no bad effect. Who answered correct – it doesn’t matter because question is cancelled due to some reason).

Sir my rs pre 2014 score is 151 n category is OPEN PH ORTHO. Will i b able to clear pre and am i eligible to compete for general posts if i will qualify throuh PH category or i have to compete for the posts reserved for PH.
@Pravin, first of all, all candidates are considered for Open posts irrespective of their category so if your score is higher (Mains + Interview) then you will be considered for open vacancies.

@Ashwin, good evening dear. Don’t just get upset. Cut offs would go down if MPSC cancels some questions. At this moment, concentrate only on the Mains preparation and nothing else. I have already explained why such low cut off this year so I can’t repeat it for everyone.

@Sumit, it depends on how many questions are cancelled by MPSC.
Sir, with all due respect, please explain me the basis of cut off of 160-170 for open when 78% of the votings suggested that they have achived less than 160% marks. I don’t understand and I think you are just playing safe, because of last years cut off. May be because of that you have also predicted the cut off for open and obc same as that of last year.
@Bhupesh, honestly tell me, do you understand the intricacies and factors involved in the cut off system? Some things are never known to us so we have to consider what is available to us. Survey was taken by very limited number of people and there must be lakhs of candidates who wrote the exam. You cannot take your decision based on such a small survey so you have to apply your own mind. Isn’t it?

I m regular follower of ur blog n I found myself that ur judgement about cut offs is most of the time correct( last yrs scs exam asst etc)
After looking at the expected cut off I found myself at the margin…also If the ans chages in the second key then my score will be definately increase. But still I would like to ask you that in the comment you mentioned “the cut off may go down or as expected by u”
do you mean to say the cut off will decrease after the second key released by mpsc?

@Saakshi, as far as I know, you need to choose medium for Essay, GS and Optional subject and you have to write all these papers in that medium only.

@Satish, you should prepare common topics till the final answer key is issued. Devote your full time to balance the preparation for both exams. RS Mains will be conducted on 30, 31 May & 1 Jun 2014.
Sir my scores is 169.23 …I have seen ur cut offs and ur advise not to advise individual questions regarding this…but me quiet new to this all…last time it was 177 for male open…so I am confused…whether to leave all job and concentrate fully on studies or not……so sir one question whether this years exam was more difficult as compared to last one…so expected cut off is low as compared to last year
@Dr Ashish, my best wishes have always been with you all dear cnadidates. Keep preparing part-time till final answer key is released by MPSC and then take your decision about leaving job, etc. Most of the candidates couldn’t attempt maximum questions and answers to many questions that were attempted have been wrong. There is some speculation going on about few questions being wrongly framed by MPSC as well as some questions too difficult to answer within short time; so this year cut off might be the lowest in MPSC history (for Rajyaseva).

Sir ,with ur new cut off suspense has increased & m finding myself right at the margin..very difficult now to concentrate for next 2 months as i wait for both upsc & mpsc results…
@Dr. Rajat, no, you must not wait for the results. My purpose has never been to create suspense or confusion. I always say that do your best and be prepared for the worst. Keep preparing for Mains (it will help you for next exam, even if you don’t make it through the Prelims 2014).
