@Dr Bhakti, you have to clear the 1st stage i.e. Prelims (of both exams – UPSC & MPSC), to be eligible for Mains. You have ample scope to utilise your medical skills/knowledge in forming government policies and implementation of government programs.

i have done my B.TECH in electronics engineering and now i’m looking forward to UPSC 2015.
but i’ve a problem with english as writing medium in mains because of my vocabulary is very poor. Also i would like to go with electrical engineering as a optional subject in mains. here i just want to know that, if i select marathi as writing medium in mains then in which language should i write my optional in ENGLISH or MARATHI? is it possible to write GS1 to GS4 in marathi and optional subject in english.
@Harsh, You can’t write GS 1-4 in Marathi and Optional in English. If you decide to write optional in Marathi then give English version within brackets of only the description of the technical terms, if any, in addition to the version in Marathi.

@Pranit, yes, you can attempt UPSC in Marathi. Go for a subject of your choice like History, Marathi Lit, etc.

@Sarang, its not too late dear. Start preparation immediately as you have almost 9 months in hand to complete Mains preparation first and then Prelims.

@Vinayak, its too late for UPSC (you may have a last chance in 2014 but it depends on your date of birth). You may go for MPSC State Services Exam.

@Harshal, you can go for it. Take the syllabus with you to a book shop and order relevant books (if not available), they will give you.

@Sarika, you CAN give the Main exam and Interview in Marathi but you CANNOT give GS in English and other papers in Marathi. You have to give GS and Essay in Marathi if you wish to have Interview in Marathi.

Respected sir, I passed 10th level 50 marks marathi paper and dont have deep knowlage of marathi.
1) how much it will effect on mains and interview .
2)tell me the name of marathi book with syllabus which help me in mains as well as in interview .

@Abrar, 1) no effect of 10th Std marks on Main exam but you should be able to get at least 45% marks in MPSC Main exam. 2) any Marathi grammar book will help.

@Ranjith, Prelims consists of 2 papers General Studies and CSAT , both objective papers. Main exam consists of 9 papers (English, Language paper, General Studies I & II, Optional I Paper I & II, Optional II Paper I & II, and Essay paper, all descriptive.

1. Is change in the name of the state is CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.?
2.If so why the change in the name of orissa state is not considered as CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT whereas change in the name of language oriya is considered as CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT 113th act.

@Bharat, 1) it is a constitutional amendment, 2) The Orissa (Alteration of Name) Bill and the Constitution (113th) Amendment Bill were passed accordingly. A constitutional amendment is always required for changing the name of a state.
