UPSC Civil Services Prelim Exam 2013
नोट: सर्वांनाच मुख्य परीक्षा मराठीतून देता येईल. (आज रोजी च्या (२१ मार्च २०१३) माहितीनुसार)
युपीएससी सिविल सेवा २०१३ मुख्य परीक्षा आता सर्वांनाच मराठीतून देता येईल आणि कमीतकमी २५ उमेदवार असणे गरजेचे नाही. पदवी इंग्रजीतून पास झालेले उमेद्वार सुद्धा आता मराठीतून देवू शकतील.
कोणतेही वाड्मय निवडता येईल.
मुख्य परीक्षेतील इंग्रजी व मराठी विषयाचे प्रत्येकी ३०० मार्क्स (एकूण ६०० गुण) फायनल रंकिंग साठी हिशेबात घेतले जाणार नाहीत.
निबंधासाठी आता २०० ऐवजी २५० गुण असतील व मुख्य परीक्षेचे एकूण गुण १७५० असतील.
लवकरात लवकर अर्ज भरावा अन्यथा आवडीचे परीक्षा केंद्र मिळणार नाही!!!
Vacancies: Approx 1000
Prelims Exam Date: 26th May 2013
Last Date of Online Application: 4th of April, 2013 till 11.59 PM
Hall Tickets: e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination.
Prelims (Objective Type): 2 papers of 200 marks each, Duration: 2 hours (each paper)
Negative Marking for Prelims: 1/3rd (0.33) of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted as penalty.
Mains (Written and Interview): Exam Date: Nov/Dec 2013
Qualifying Papers ( एकूण ६०० गुण) फायनल रंकिंग साठी हिशेबात घेतले जाणार नाहीत.

English: 300 Marks
Paper-II
Marathi – 300 Marks
Compulsory Papers (एकूण १७५० गुण) फायनल रंकिंग साठी हिशेबात घेतले जातील.
Paper-III
Essay – 250 Marks
Paper-IV
General Studies–I – 250Marks
(Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society)
Paper-V
General Studies –II – 250 Marks
(Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations)
Paper-VI
General Studies –III – 250 Marks
(Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management)
Paper-VII
General Studies –IV – 250 Marks
(Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude)
Paper-VIII
Optional Subject – Paper 1 – 250 Marks
Paper-IX
Optional Subject – Paper 2 – 250 Marks
Sub Total (Written test) 1750 Marks
Personality Test – 275 Marks. (No minimum passing marks)
Grand Total 2025 Marks (Marks of English & Marathi Will not be counted for final ranking)
Candidates may choose any optional subject from amongst the list of subjects given in para 2 below (Group 1).
NOTE:
(i) Marks obtained by the candidates for papers III to IX will be counted for merit ranking. However, the Commission will have the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all papers of the examination.
RATIO:
For Main Exam : 1:12 or 1:13 ( The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination will be about twelve to thirteen times the total approximate number of vacancies to be filled in the year in the various Services and Posts.)
For Interview: 1:2 (The number of candidates to be summoned for interview will be about twice the number of vacancies to be filled.)

@Mahesh, if you choose Marathi medium for the UPSC CS exam then you can give all the papers in Marathi except the compulsory English paper.

@अमोल, किती तास म्हणण्यापेक्षा कसा आणि किती दिवसात करणार हे विचार. दररोज कमीतकमी ३ ते ४ तास दिलेत तर १ वर्षात तयारी होईल.

sir, I am Mechanical Engineer preparing for MPSC RTO n UPSC IAS , Now studing as per your given time table but still not confident to crack about MPSC,UPSC prelim.. I am preparing for RTO so it would be possible to carck prelim n main at a time..?? how can get success …please guide me…thanks

@Swapnil, NO. Test your written-English with any Professor and then take the decision to invest 3 more years for another degree.

In upsc prelims form, instead of ‘0 attempt’ i’ve put ‘1 attempt’ in ‘No. Of attempts already made in civil cirvices’.. Sir please tell me what should i do?

sir I have applied for both forest as well as civil,commission has asked optional subject for Forest service only and not for civil service why so?
@Mahesh, you will be asked to choose optional subject only at the time of filling up form for Mains. You should HAVE read everything (instructions provided) before you applied for the exam. @Jayant, only name should be in capital letters. For other details like address you can capitalize each word.
